What should you do when you’re faced with an inspection issue?
Buyers and sellers always want to know which inspection issues they can negotiate, which ones they should take a hard stand on, and which ones they should simply walk away from.
It’s often in the eye of the beholder, but you’ve probably heard your Realtors emphasize health and safety. You also need to look out for great financial pain. From a seller’s perspective, if you must disclose a serious item that you’re not planning on repairing it, you should negotiate. If you, as the buyer, cannot live in the home in good conscience or can’t afford the repair, don’t buy it. Don’t let ego get involved because this is a business transaction.
