Now that fall is here, we’re seeing a slight increase in buyer activity in the market. The lull we had between August and early September is ending because there’s more inventory hitting the market now. To clarify, the market isn’t flipping to a buyer’s market, but it is starting to level out.
The buyers entering the market are our regular local buyers who took time off when New Yorkers flooded the market, and it was just too hard to compete in multi-offer situations. Multiple-offer situations are not as frequent now, but it’s still a great time to sell. We’re watching this seller’s market, and the data we have tells us to expect the market to slowly start flattening out. We should see about a 3% increase in the average home price between now and September 2021.
